Key Responsibilities
- Assist dentists chairside during various dental procedures, including cleanings, fillings, and extractions.
- Prepare patients for treatment by reviewing medical histories, taking vital signs, and administering local anesthesia as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including X-rays, charts, and other relevant documents.
- Restock supplies, prepare treatment rooms, and perform general cleaning duties to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Collaborate with dentists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a dental assistant program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
- Current certification as a certified dental assistant (CDA) or registered dental assistant (RDA), depending on your state's requirements.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
