Senior Transport Energy Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Transport Energy Analyst to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative policies in the Asia-Pacific region.

The successful candidate will have strong analytical and technical skills, with experience in working with data analysis tools such as Excel and Python-based models. They will be able to communicate complex data insights effectively and persuasively, both verbally and in writing.

This role requires a strong understanding of transport energy systems, including oil, gas, biofuels, hydrogen, synthetic fuels, biogas, electricity and other transport energy sources. The ideal candidate will have relevant professional experience working on technical issues in the environmental or energy sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement robust analytical frameworks to support policy development.
  • Conduct technical analyses of transport energy systems, including biomass, biofuels, and renewable fuels of non-biological origin.
  • Communicate complex data insights to policymakers, industry representatives and other stakeholders at the highest level.
Requirements:
  • Proven expertise in and knowledge of the energy system, alternative fuel production and/or biofuel supply chains.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to quickly grasp technical issues, assess data, and good knowledge of Excel or other modelling tools.
  • Relevant professional experience working on technical issues in the environmental or energy sectors, or in a research institution.

Desirable skills include experience working closely with stakeholders in Asia-Pacific countries, expertise to strengthen the role such as understanding fuel markets and economics, knowledge of land use emissions and agriculture, Asian languages (e.g. Mandarin, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean) and project management experience including strong interpersonal and team-working skills and a track record in delivering to tight deadlines.
