At Nanyang Technological University, the position of Research Engineer II is available. This role requires an individual with a strong background in thermodynamics and electric and electrical engineering to participate in the development of lithium-ion battery pack design. The engineer will be responsible for preparing the design scheme according to system requirements on electric, thermal, structural performance.

The key responsibilities include participating in the development of advanced battery thermal management technology, skillfully using computational software to conduct multiphysical numerical analysis and model built-up for battery system, and preparing technical requirements and design verification standards according to system requirements. The candidate must also conduct literature review on equipment standards and specifications, prepare technical requirement documents, and conduct virtual design verification for the thermal performance of developed thermal management system.

In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing 2D and 3D mechanical drawings as well as animation, preparing design progress document and final report, and working effectively in a team environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and have a good understanding of development progress of battery system product.

To be considered for this role, the candidate must have at least a master's degree in thermodynamics, electric and electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar. A research or working background in lithium-ion battery product development and production is also preferable. Familiarity with CAD software like SolidWorks and CAE simulation software like COMSOL and ANSYS is necessary. The candidate should also be self-motivated, independent, and able to work well in a team.
