Job Summary

Western Digital is seeking a skilled Global Commodity Manager to join our team. As a key member of our procurement organization, you will be responsible for negotiating, managing, and coordinating logistics sourcing activities for all modes of freight, including warehousing and brokerage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and manage logistics sourcing activities for all modes of freight, including warehousing and brokerage.
  • Analyze spend data, internal requirements, and external supply markets to develop strategic sourcing strategies and plans aligned with business goals.
  • Prepare, redline, and negotiate commercial contracts, including services agreements, licenses, and statements of work.
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with internal clients to strategically manage spend and the supply base for assigned categories.
  • Manage and coordinate special/critical projects, such as ad hoc and spot rate approval processes.
  • Provide excellent strategic sourcing support to reporting managers and business partners to ensure a competitive advantage for Western Digital.
  • Drive improvements in key metrics, such as cost, quality, and transit time.
  • Assist with projects and perform other related duties as directed by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, Master's degree a plus.
  • Preferred 5+ years of strategic sourcing experience in the logistics space, including warehouse services and transportation.
  • Demonstrated skills in negotiating and formulating contracts for services procurement, understanding of outsourcing models, and cost associated with them.
  • Highly developed negotiation skills and knowledge of contracts.
  • Ability to work well in a high-pace dynamic environment, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and ensure task completion and deadlines are met.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
