Job Title: Canine Care Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our animal care team as a Canine Care Specialist. This key role is responsible for providing high-quality care and training to our furry students. As a Canine Care Specialist, you will be part of a team that prioritizes the welfare and well-being of animals, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for them to thrive.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Creating a safe and healthy environment for our canine students by maintaining cleanliness and organization of the facility.
  • Providing basic training for our canine students using positive reward-based methods.
  • Delivering exceptional care for our canine students, including feeding, exercise, and playtime activities.
  • Interacting with and supervising dogs while in playgroup to ensure their socialization and emotional well-being.
  • Assisting with daily activities such as taking dogs out for walks and potty breaks.
  • Preparing food, water, and administering medicine according to schedule.
  • Maintaining accurate records of daily activities and contributing to the overall success of our animal care program.
  • Ensuring a clean and healthy environment by following established protocols and procedures.
  • Providing administrative support, including pet registrations, customer inquiries, and other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Compassionate and enjoy caring for animals.
  • Willingness to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Able to commit to at least 35 hours per week.
  • Advocate for positive reward-based training methods and demonstrate willingness to learn and practice new techniques.
  • Minimum Diploma from a recognized institution.
  • Higher learning in Psychology, Education, or Veterinary Technology is an asset.
  • Prior experience in animal care, boarding facilities, hospitality, service industry, or veterinary clinics is beneficial.
  • Professional attitude with excellent communication skills, good work ethic, and ability to multitask.
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable with being active and on feet throughout the day.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills and proficiency in English with strong verbal and written skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
