Join the Horticulture and Living Collections team at Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority as a Trainee Horticulturist
About the Role:
As a Trainee Horticulturist, you will learn horticultural and associated activities while assisting other staff to implement the operational plan as part of a team. The Traineeship will include a formal training contract and one day per week study toward Certificate II or III in Horticulture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of the operational plan as part of a team.
- Learn horticultural and associated activities.
- Participate in formal training and study toward Certificate II or III in Horticulture.
Selection Criteria:
- Successful completion of Year 10.
- Demonstrated good written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of horticulture.
- Strong work ethic with a willingness and ability to perform physical work year round in an outdoor team environment.
- Knowledge of and enthusiasm for the Western Australian flora.
Requirements:
- Australian citizenship, New Zealand citizenship, or Australian permanent residency status.
- Visa with entitlement to live and work in Australia for the term of the contract.
