Cloud Infrastructure Specialist Job Description

This role is perfect for a seasoned professional with expertise in designing and implementing cloud infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with Google Cloud Platform technologies.

  • The main responsibility of this position is to collaborate with stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient GCP infrastructure services that meet business requirements.
  • Key tasks include administering and managing cloud infrastructure deployment on GCP, including provisioning and de-provisioning resources, maintaining security posture, monitoring resource utilization, configuring networks, and managing backup/restore processes.
  • This role also involves troubleshooting issues effectively, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective and preventive actions during and after incidents to minimize downtime.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A degree in Computer Science or a related field; GCP Certified Professional Cloud Architect certification is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience working with cloud infrastructure, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience working on GCP. Experience with AWS or Azure is beneficial.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python and scripting languages like Ansible, with a solid understanding of data structures, algorithm design/analysis, and SQL.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and infrastructure management tools (e.g., JIRA, DataDog, Splunk).
  • Hands-on experience with Docker containerization and Kubernetes orchestration (GKE) is preferred.
  • Experience in deploying object storage and data warehousing solutions, particularly with Google Cloud Storage (GCS) and BigQuery is beneficial.

Responsibilities and Expectations

As a Cloud Infrastructure Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions on GCP. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand their requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the security, scalability, and reliability of our GCP infrastructure.

You will also be responsible for collaborating with other teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud infrastructure with other systems and applications.
