As an Electrical Systems Design Expert, you will be responsible for undertaking electrical systems design for building projects. This includes the design of MV and LV power systems, normal & emergency lighting systems, earthing & lightning protection systems, fire alarm and life safety systems, ICT, security systems, and other ELV systems.
">Your key tasks and responsibilities will include preparation and delivery of design layouts, schematics, calculations, reports, and specification from concept to tender design. You will also support conducting primary technical reviews on design deliverables related to electrical system design, as well as preparing load estimation for the project and coordinating with other disciplines and third parties.
">In addition, you will assist senior engineers in space planning, report, and preliminary calculations during the concept design stage. Where design is being performed remotely with other offices or by subconsultant, you will collaborate closely with those remote design teams and ensure compliance with local requirements.
">You will provide electrical engineering technical support and engage personally where required to successfully enable Local Authorities' approvals on all projects. Mentor and coach junior and graduate engineers where directed. Check and review electrical design work undertaken by junior and graduate engineers. Forecast, plan, and manage your own workload and progress against agreed plan and criteria.
">Evaluate and advise lead/senior engineer on electrical related design changes to ensure change management. Ensure strong attention to detail, team working, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills. Follow QA/QC procedures in projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Embed Health & Safety into all work practices in line with company policies.
">Maintain and participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) events to develop your expertise. Proven track record in building services design with different types of sectors, including high rise, commercial, residential, retail, healthcare, industrial, educational, refurbishment, etc.
">Experienced in working within teams on multi-disciplinary projects and interacting with a wide range of architectural, engineering, and planning disciplines. Knowledge of electrical engineering principles for LV, Lighting, ELV, and FA/FLS design. System overview knowledge of buildings mechanical and public health systems.
">An ability to adapt to different working styles and unique business cultures. Experienced in electrical design to BS-EN, NEC, CIBSE, NFPA standards. Knowledge and experience of local statutory authorities' regulations and submission requirements across Singapore/Malaysia.
">Proficient in LV power system modeling and analysis software such as Amtech (or similar), lighting software (Dialux Evo, Relux, or similar), Lightning Protection (Strike Risk or similar), and generator sizing. Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office suite. Knowledge and experience of AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, and Navisworks would be recommended.
">Awareness of sustainable design practices and technologies, preferably having worked on LEED certified projects. Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include self-motivated, team player, able to work independently with minimum supervision, flexible attitude, frequently changing deadlines, and meeting deadlines.
">Required Skills and Qualifications:
">- BE Electrical with 4 – 8 years of professional experience, out of which a minimum of 3 years should be in Singapore/Malaysia projects as an added advantage.
