Senior I&C Engineer for Global Facilities

Position Overview:

As a Senior I&C Engineer for Global Facilities, you will play a pivotal role in delivering technical guidance, expertise, and facilitating business process alignment on construction project design, management, scheduling, cost control, testing, commissioning, and operational maintenance programs for facility I&C / SCADA / IoT / TGM systems across all manufacturing sites in your designated region. You will serve as a representative of facility design standards, project management, and operational excellence initiatives.

You will collaborate with the Global Facilities Central Engineering Team, Construction Team, Line Planning Team, and O&M Team to ensure critical design standard alignment, enhance supplier quality, and provide operational and maintenance insights to support construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Oversee the design and construction of regional greenfield projects, ensuring alignment with global standards and collaboration with sustainability, cost, construction, and line planning teams.
  • Provide engineering support for site projects, including technology transfers and sustainability initiatives.
  • Evaluate and approve site capacity expansion and sustainability capital expenditures.
  • Prioritize and make informed decisions regarding Facilities Reliability Improvement project capital expenditures.

Reliability Engineering

  • Support site system improvement projects focused on reliability, quality enhancement, and equipment end-of-life replacements.
  • Lead regional initiatives and identify opportunities for strategic program alignment.
  • Provide engineering support for major SIPP reviews and share lessons learned from regional events to influence global standards.

Communication and Collaboration

  • Act as the primary contact for regional sites and GFC central teams.
  • Ensure alignment on metrics reporting and performance tracking.

Engineering and Operational Support

  • Maintain expert knowledge of each site's Facility I&C / SCADA / IoT / TGM systems to provide essential support.
  • In addition to your global I&C engineering responsibilities, offer site/regional support for global facility initiatives.
  • Lead a global cross-functional team focused on project design, construction, and operational excellence.
  • Provide on-site support for construction projects and critical I&C system failures.
  • Engage in TPM implementation and ongoing support for I&C systems.
  • Drive quality improvements in utilities through variation reduction.
  • Standardize methodologies across the network for I&C systems.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction strategies while optimizing energy usage.
  • Ensure effective preventive maintenance programs are in place across the network.
  • Regularly communicate with site engineering and O&M teams regarding status and performance.
  • Analyze equipment performance and develop training programs to support global and site initiatives.
  • Establish metrics to drive improvements in maintenance and reliability.
  • Share updates on key initiatives and focus areas.
  • Review FIPA/METS events and recommend actions to minimize critical I&C impacts.
  • Collaborate with construction and engineering teams to ensure project alignment.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of Micron's Sustainability programs.
  • Conduct in-depth reviews of site sustainability projects to meet corporate sustainability targets.
  • Provide technical guidance to navigate challenges in project planning and execution.
  • Assist in data acquisition and validation for sustainability project tracking.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic, Mechanical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Proven teamwork and collaboration capabilities with internal and external groups.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills across diverse functional and cultural teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and lead teams to achieve challenging objectives.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in Facility I&C / SCADA / IoT / TGM Systems Engineering.
  • Previous leadership or active involvement in global facility engineering initiatives is preferred.
