Job Description:
The role involves transporting goods and materials in a heavy goods vehicle to various locations as per a scheduled time plan. The driver must ensure that the vehicle is properly maintained, adhering to all safety regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Operating and driving a heavy goods vehicle to transport goods and materials to various destinations.
• Inspecting the vehicle for any mechanical issues or safety concerns and performing routine maintenance tasks.
• Adhering to traffic rules and company policies while operating the vehicle.
• Planning routes and ensuring timely deliveries.
• Loading and unloading cargo using appropriate equipment.
• Collecting and verifying delivery instructions and customer signatures.
• Reporting any defects, accidents, or regulatory violations.
• Maintaining a logbook to track driving activities and adherence to regulations.
• Ensuring the vehicle and associated equipment are kept clean and in good working condition.
Requirements:
Required Skills and Qualifications:
A valid Class 4 driving license is required for this position.
