Job Title

Culinary Chef Instructor plays a vital role in educating and training culinary students.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Culinary Chef Instructor include:

  • Teaching and conducting professional culinary courses that meet the highest standards of quality.
  • Supervising and executing day-to-day operations of the academy's kitchens, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized learning environment, including classrooms and bakery areas.
  • Participating in curriculum development and lesson planning for professional courses, working closely with other instructors and management.
  • Preparing assessments and examinations for students, ensuring fair and accurate evaluation.
  • Monitoring student evaluations and grading processes, implementing necessary changes to improve performance.
  • Proactively managing food costs and identifying opportunities to reduce waste and optimize resources.
  • Providing guidance and counseling to students as needed, serving as a positive influence on their academic and professional development.
  • Modeling high standards of grooming, punctuality, honesty, and integrity, upholding the academy's values and reputation.
  • Assisting with special projects and events as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate should possess:

  • A degree in Culinary Arts or a related field.
  • An Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) is mandatory; applicants without certification will be required to obtain it within a specified timeframe.
  • At least 5 years of industry experience in hotels or restaurants, with a strong background in culinary education.
  • Relevant experience in area specialization, such as Western or Asian cuisine.
  • Competence in delivering education in English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop creative recipes and menus, demonstrating innovative thinking and flair.
  • Positive attitude, results-oriented mindset, and good sense of humor.
  • Competency in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
