About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cyber Security Specialist to join our team at the Singapore Institute of Technology. As a key member of our academic staff, you will be responsible for designing and teaching labs and practice modules, mentoring students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme, and leading or co-leading innovation projects with industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop engaging lab and practice modules to support our academic programmes.
  • Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their goals.
  • Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry partners, driving collaboration and knowledge transfer.
  • Manage labs and equipment to ensure they are safe and well-maintained, supporting our academic programmes and applied research.
  • Ensure the safety of students and staff in labs, adhering to industry best practices and regulations.

Requirements

  • A good degree in Computer Science or a related field from a recognized University, with a major in Information Security or a Master's degree being advantageous.
  • Proven working experience as a Certified Security Analyst or relevant experience, with good knowledge of industry practices and technological applications in the field.
  • A firm grasp of the cyber security domain, as well as proficiency with a range of information security tools and techniques.
  • Keen interests in supporting research and academic project work, with demonstrated competencies to manage and employ new security technologies.
  • Strong supervisory skills and the ability to work closely with students in an educational environment.
  • A self-starter with hands-on knowledge to implement security policies and establish layered defenses for network and server systems, as well as the ability to perform penetration and vulnerability testing.
  • Proficiency in staying up-to-date on the latest intelligence, including hackers' methodologies, and pursuing professional certification programs.
  • Industrial certifications in relevant areas will be an added advantage.
