Job Title: Crane Operator

We are seeking an experienced crane operator to join our team. As a crane operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of cranes in various environments.

• Determine Safe Lift Parameters: You will need to determine safe lift parameters and follow established procedures to ensure the safe movement of materials.
• Document Lift Plan: You will be responsible for documenting the lift plan as required, especially when the lift exceeds 75% of the crane's capacity.
• Operate Cranes: You will operate cranes for building construction and the movement of cargo or equipment.
• Safe Equipment Operation: You will be responsible for the safe and technically proficient operation of heavy equipment such as bulldozers, articulating loaders, excavators, graders, backhoes, fork-lifts, tele-handlers, snow blasters, tracked agricultural tractors, pistenbullys, dump-trucks, snow moving and grooming equipment, etc.
• Equipment Maintenance: You will perform daily equipment checks to ensure all equipment is properly maintained and in safe operating condition.
• Rigging Equipment: You will safely operate various types of cranes to lift and move material, rig equipment, machinery, and material using slings, chain falls, come-alongs, and other rigging gear as required and in accordance with all safety protocols.
• Work Orders: You will identify and create work orders for general maintenance needs according to manufacturer recommendations or as directed by the Vehicle Maintenance Facility and Fleet Operations leadership.
• JHA Completion: You will complete Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) as required.
• Equipment Hours Tracking: You will track equipment hours daily and notify fleet operations office foreman any time equipment is within 25 hours of its PM due hours.
• Crane Inspections: You will complete daily, weekly and monthly crane inspections as required.
• General Duties: You will perform general duties as required in support of Fleet Operations and ASC Operations Division metrics (as provided by the supervisor).
• Compliance: You will comply with all ASC Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals.
• Documentation: You will provide documentation to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate compliance documentation.
• ASC Goals: You will work to achieve ASC goals and contractual commitments.
• Manual Labor: You may be required to perform snow shoveling, ice-chipping, and other forms of manual labor.
• Physical Demands: You will perform physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of tall equipment and vehicles, crawling as needed, working outdoors in extreme cold and walking long distances daily.
• Safety Program: You will implement and maintain a safe workplace program and ensure that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
• Operator Manual: You will read and understand the manufacturer's operating manual for each piece of equipment prior to operation of that equipment.
• Time Recording: You will accurately record time worked, and equipment hours used daily in Maximo and on timesheet.
• Additional Duties: You will perform other duties as required.

• High School Diploma or GED: You must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• NCCCO Certification: You must have NCCCO certification or equivalent in crane operations.
• Experience: You must have four years of experience as a heavy equipment operator.
• Certified Crane Operator: You must have at least 200 hours of routine crane operation.
