Job Title: Vocational Development Specialist

Job Description:
Our organization is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Vocational Development Specialist to join our team. As a Vocational Development Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing job support services to trainees and alumni. Your primary objective will be to assist individuals with mild intellectual disabilities (MID) in achieving their career aspirations and developing the necessary skills to succeed in the workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct work readiness assessments, site assessments, and employer analyses to identify job duties and improve job matching outcomes.
  • Actively involve trainees and caregivers in proactive and self-determined steps towards career development.
  • Facilitate job search processes between trainees, caregivers, and employers, including resume preparation, parental consent for interviews, and job orientation.
  • Coach trainees at worksites to fulfill required job tasks while incorporating essential social, communication, self-management, and etiquette skills.
  • Mentor employers at different hierarchical levels to provide natural support for trainees at worksites.

Employer Engagement and Partnership:
We are looking for an individual who can source new employers and employment opportunities, establish partnership networks, and manage robust collaborative relationships with existing employers. You will serve as the main point of contact and service for assigned core or strategic employers, assessing their needs and delivering user-friendly induction and education sessions. Additionally, you will obtain feedback from employers on provided education and support, assisting them to access available resources.

Benefits and Opportunities:

  • Assist in conducting annual employer surveys to identify areas for improvement in training and coaching.
  • Provide consultation to stakeholders (trainees, caregivers, instructors, etc.) to gain a better understanding of different employers' needs and expectations.
  • Collaborate with Allied Professionals such as Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, and Social Workers to mediate and manage expectations of employers and caregivers to meet the needs of trainees at work.

Requirements and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you must possess a degree or diploma in any discipline and have minimum 2 years of experience in relevant industries. You should also have patient, teamwork-oriented, and independent qualities, with excellent communication skills and the ability to co-create content tailored for students/trainees with MID. We welcome applications from individuals who are passionate, well-organized, meticulous, and able to communicate effectively with people of diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Working Conditions:
This position requires flexibility, with occasional traveling around Singapore and possible weekend/PH work. The work location is Choa Chu Kang Grove.
