Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Oracle Database Administrator to manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Oracle databases in mission-critical environments.

  • Database Infrastructure Management:

    • The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, upgrade, and patch management of Oracle database software in single instance and RAC environments.

    • The candidate will design and implement high-availability and disaster recovery strategies using Oracle Data Guard and RMAN.

    • The candidate will manage Oracle ASM, storage configurations, and interaction with SAN/NAS teams.

  • Operational Support & Maintenance:

    • The candidate will monitor database health and performance using Oracle Enterprise Manager and infrastructure tools such as Nagios and Dynatrace.

    • The candidate will perform proactive capacity planning and tuning of database servers.

    • The candidate will manage tablespaces, redo logs, undo segments, indexes, partitions, and backups.

  • Backup and Recovery:

    • The candidate will implement and manage database backup strategies using RMAN and third-party backup tools.

    • The candidate will conduct regular DR drills and support recovery activities during outages or planned exercises.

  • Security & Compliance:

    • The candidate will implement database security policies including user roles, auditing, encryption, and patch compliance.

    • The candidate will collaborate with InfoSec teams for vulnerability scans and remediation.

    • The candidate will ensure compliance with data protection, GDPR, and regulatory standards.

  • Automation & Scripting:

    • The candidate will develop shell/Perl/Python scripts for database monitoring, maintenance, and reporting.

    • The candidate will automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.

  • Collaboration & Documentation:

    • The candidate will work with infrastructure, storage, network, and application teams for cross-functional support.

    • The candidate will maintain database documentation, runbooks, change logs, and compliance audit records.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years as an Oracle DBA in enterprise-scale infrastructure.

  • Expertise in Oracle versions 12c, 19c.

  • Strong knowledge of Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and Grid Infrastructure.

  • Experience in Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.

  • Familiarity with ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management.

  • Exposure to cloud-based Oracle environments (OCI, AWS RDS, or Azure DB).

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve performance and outage issues.
