Weather Routing Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Weather Routing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in weather routing and optimization, with a strong background in meteorology and oceanography.

The role involves collecting operational data, generating optimized routes, and delivering accurate forecasts to support vessel performance and safety at sea. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collecting operational data, including vessel tracking and weather conditions
  • Generating optimized routes and speed recommendations using advanced weather routing software
  • Delivering accurate meteorological and oceanographic forecasts
  • Providing remote support to vessels during voyages
  • Maintaining post-voyage reports and analyzing forecast vs actual conditions
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of experience as a navigation officer, with recent passage planning experience
  • Practical use of weather routing software or services
  • Rough seas navigation experience
  • Experience managing fleet performance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a Weather Routing or Operational Monitoring Center
  • Background as an officer on gas carriers, tankers, container vessels, bulk carriers, or passenger ships
  • Experience as Second Officer and above rank
  • Exposure to polar navigation
  • Certified studies in meteorology or oceanography
