This is a senior pharmacist role with significant responsibility for pharmacy operations.
The successful candidate will lead the pharmacy team, ensuring high-quality patient care and effective management of pharmaceutical supplies.
The role involves strategic planning, leadership, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills to deliver excellent results in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in pharmacy practice, procurement, inventory management, and stakeholder engagement.
A strong track record of achievement in cost savings, quality improvement, and team management is essential for this role.
The Senior Pharmacist/Principal Pharmacist will work closely with clinical teams, inventory units, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of pharmaceutical services.
The role requires a deep understanding of regulatory requirements, industry trends, and best practices in pharmacy operations.
A degree in Pharmacy and registration with the Singapore Pharmacy Council are mandatory qualifications for this position.
The selected candidate will demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and knowledge of SAP-MM.
Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and analytical skills are also required to succeed in this challenging role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement pharmacy strategies to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Lead the pharmacy team to achieve excellence in patient care, safety, and service standards.
- Collaborate with clinical teams and inventory units to ensure continuity, quality, and cost-effectiveness of pharmaceutical supplies.
- Represent the institution in evaluating drugs and pharmaceutical products, and optimize inventory levels to minimize wastages.
- Work closely with the pharmacy inventory team on inventory management, stock take activities, and reporting.
- Participate in key activities, operational workgroups, quality improvement/productivity projects, and manage critical supplies & stocks.
- Timely sourcing and processing of purchase requests from users.
- Verify and submit requirements of national contracts, achieving cost-savings from purchases.
- Manage controlled drugs, distribute effectively, and in accordance with Misuse of Drug Acts requirements.
- Ensure continuity of critical supplies or alternate products during exceptional periods.
- Minimize total value of goods written-off (Pharmacy Store and all pharmacy sections/substores).
- Maintain accurate pharmacy systems, handle audit queries, and lead and motivate the team at site.
- Degree in Pharmacy with minimum 5 years' relevant professional practice experience.
- Registered pharmacist with the Singapore Pharmacy Council.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience in engaging stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient in Microsoft Office applications, and knowledge in SAP-MM.
- Relevant experience in Procurement and inventory management of drugs and pharmaceutical products.
- Good negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, independent worker with team spirit and good problem-solving skills.
