Biomedical Engineering Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned Biomedical Engineer to deliver high-quality biomedical engineering services. As a key team member, you will oversee the safe and effective management of our biomedical engineering operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Support for Dialysis Centres:
    • Manage biomedical operations across multiple centres, ensuring equipment availability and functionality.
    • Provide technical support for assigned centres during off-hours and public holidays.
  • Maintenance and Reliability of Biomedical Equipment:
    • Evaluate and implement maintenance plans to minimize equipment downtime and breakdown rates.
    • Detect and repair malfunctioning equipment promptly, ensuring proper servicing before returning it to use.
    • Provide frontline troubleshooting support to address urgent technical issues.
  • Water Quality Management:
    • Conduct regular checks and testing to ensure treated water meets safety standards.
    • Maintain reverse osmosis systems, including off-duty work, to ensure continuous and safe water supply.
  • Administrative and Strategic Contributions:
    • Prepare and maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, water quality reports, and troubleshooting activities.
    • Undertake tasks assigned by the Head of Department, such as preparing technical case studies or contributing to strategic projects.
    • Ensure all operations comply with safety regulations and support internal and external audits.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Medical Technology, or related fields.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant engineering experience in dialysis therapy and water treatment systems.
  • Experience in the Healthcare industry is advantageous.
Essential Skills & Competencies:
  1. Technical Expertise:
    • In-depth knowledge of biomedical equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
    • Familiarity with reverse osmosis systems and water treatment standards.
    • Ability to perform quality control tests and interpret results to ensure safety standards are met.
  2. Problem-Solving Skills:
    • Analytical skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
    • Capacity to think critically during emergencies and implement effective solutions.
  3. Time Management:
    • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, balancing planned maintenance, emergency breakdowns, and additional responsibilities.
  4. Attention to Detail:
    • Ensures precision in testing, maintaining, and calibrating equipment, reducing risks of equipment failure or patient harm.
  5. Communication Skills:
    • Clear reporting and documentation of maintenance activities and water quality results.
    • Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, such as healthcare staff.
  6. Adaptability:
    • Flexibility to handle off-hours calls, unexpected breakdowns, and HOD-assigned tasks while maintaining performance.
