Environmental Sustainability Lecturer
About the Role:
This is a 2-year position as an Environmental Sustainability Specialist in a School of Life Sciences & Chemical Technology.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering educational programs in environmental sustainability, water technology, and waste management.


Your Responsibilities:
You will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Design, develop and deliver lectures, tutorials, practicals, assessments and marking for full-time and part-time courses in environmental science and sustainability, environmental engineering, water technology and carbon management
  • Be available to teach at least 1 evening per week and/or on weekends for CET classes
  • Conduct business development in the environmental industry to drive educational courses and projects
  • Supervise and facilitate student-industry collaboration projects
  • Collaborate with industry on training, applied research and consultancy projects
  • Contribute to student-related events and outreach activities
  • Mentor students in character development and career readiness
  • Provide pastoral care for students
  • Carry out administrative duties to support academic and school operations

Requirements:
Relevant qualifications in Civil/Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
Relevant teaching experience or at least 3 years of relevant industry experience in the area of civil or environmental engineering
  • Competent to plan, develop, teach, and support modules related to environmental science and sustainable practices, environmental engineering, water technology and carbon management, including climate change mitigation & adaptation, energy & environmental management systems, circular economy & environmental sustainability management, life cycle assessment, environmental testing
  • Passionate about education and possess a strong interest in nurturing, teaching, mentoring and interacting with students
  • A team player with strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
  • Self-driven, independent and able to multitask effectively
