Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversight and guidance to analysts group, offering fundamental analysis direction and serving as strategist for global trading.
  • Leading team of analysts and collaborating with strategists to develop trading strategies based on fundamental analysis.
  • Engaging with local trading managers to understand business needs and tailor analysis accordingly.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Understanding key trading positions in crude, clean products, fuel oil, NGL, LPG, renewables, and coordinating analyst work to suggest/evaluate required analysis.
  2. Developing and maintaining supply and demand models for a group and understanding other supply/demand models supported by other commodity strategists.
  3. Working with analysts to improve accuracy of supply and demand models and forecasts for short and medium terms.
  4. Identifying market anomalies and communicating to Trading on physical market and forward market changes.
  5. Collaborating with traders and global team of strategists to predict market behaviors using models and identifying additional fundamental data to develop forward global market views.
  6. Networking and developing relationships with external consultants and other analysts in the industry for market understanding.
  7. Participating in weekly meetings with traders and collaborating to generate trading ideas, formulate short-term market views, and trading strategies.
  8. Leading team in preparation of global trading meetings and providing ad hoc analysis and help with data augmentation exercises.
  9. Working with Chief Economist Office to update corporate long-range price forecasts.
  10. Assisting with development and implementation of quantitative analysis methods to capitalize on opportunities in financial trading.
  11. Coaching/mentoring the team of analysts to support their development within the company.
