About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Project Engineer to join our team at Careers@Gov. As an Assistant Project Engineer, you will play a key role in the management of railway signalling and platform screen doors projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the management of documentation submission, reviewing system design, supervising installation, witnessing testing and commissioning of railway signalling and platform screen doors systems.
  • Work closely with engineers and managers to ensure that projects are well-coordinated and that new core systems are implemented without compromising safety and performance.
  • Liaise with various parties, including project teams, contractors, designers, architects, stakeholders, and the railway operator to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Assist in the management of safety, quality, progress, and environmental impact of contractors' works.
  • Have the opportunity to work on unmanned communication-based train control (CBTC) signalling systems, including automatic train control (ATC), automatic train protection (ATP), automatic train operation (ATO), data and network communication (DCS), and computer-based interlocking (CBI) systems.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Communications Engineering/Mechanical/Computer Engineering.
  • Good communication skills with some knowledge of slide presentation and report writing.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Team player with initiatives and who is analytical, resourceful, and result-oriented.
  • Good appreciation of the constraints and interface requirements of civil, trackwork, electrical, and mechanical works.
  • Experience in the construction of underground MRT stations.
  • Able to perform shift work, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Those with strong relevant years of experience in railway systems will be considered for senior positions.
  • Those without working experience are welcome to apply.
