We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Inspector to join our team at MASTERSCAN ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. in Singapore.

This role is an exciting opportunity for a professional with experience in inspecting Cooling Towers and Boilers to contribute to the implementation of Testing & Inspection programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively as part of the technical team to provide process engineering support for operations in the refinery.
  • Offer technical advice and support to daily operational issues, ensuring seamless integration with the team's objectives.
  • Conduct unit optimization, troubleshooting, and de-bottlenecking studies to drive efficiency and productivity.
  • Lead or participate in safety initiatives, including risk assessments and HAZOP reviews, to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Support ongoing reliability improvements and equipment strategy development, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Analyze complex technical issues, identify key drivers, and propose strategies to inform decision-making and resolve technical issues.
  • Develop and execute margin improvement ideas/projects, driving business growth and profitability.
  • Coordinate NDT activities, inspection tasks relevant to API and Refinery owner standards, ensuring compliance and quality.
  • Review radiographic films, witness NDT activities to achieve precise results, and interpret UTG/PAUT findings, perform fracture analysis, and calculate remaining life.
  • Evaluate the quality of inspected items to meet project requirements and refinery standards, upholding exceptional quality control.
  • Pursue inservice inspections in refineries/Oil and Gas/Petrochemical industries, focusing on corrosion under pipe support (CUPS), corrosion under insulation (CUI), injection & mix points inspections, and related activities.
  • Read, understand, and apply project-related ITPs, procedures, specification requirements, and review documents/drawings as per specifications.
  • Show knowledge/experience regarding Piping Isometrics, P&ID, general arrangement drawings, structural drawings, weld maps, welding symbols, cutting plans, quality control procedures, base materials, and welding consumables.
  • Inspect, review mill certificates, material verification, inspection of pipes, fittings, flanges, valves, nipples, plates, tubes as per respective material specifications, codes, standards & client specifications, conduct stage-wise activities during spool fabrication.
  • Perform fit-up inspection and welding inspection, visual inspection, monitor and record welding parameters during welding as per WPS, carry out ferrite test inspection with clients after duplex/super duplex pipe spools weld joints, and witness post-weld heat treatment and review reports.
  • Line check inspection, pneumatic testing, hydro testing, hot oil flushing, chemical cleaning, flood testing, flushing & reinstatement, till the final stage of color coding and valve tagging.
Requirements:
  • Graduate/Diploma Engineers with > 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant Engineering Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Petroleum/Oil/Gas, Civil, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering are acceptable.
  • API 510/570/653, QAQC Qualified CSWIP 3.1 Welding inspector/Certified QAQC Inspector/Certified QA QC Engineer and NDT Level I & II.
  • Must have experience in inspecting Cooling Towers and Boilers.
  • Experience in piping line walk, reinstatement inspections according to Isometric drawings.
  • Knowledge in Non-Destructive Testing methods.
  • Knowledge/experience in welding inspection, structural fabrication, piping Isometric drawing, and piping materials.
  • Able to work independently and collaborate with teams in Singapore and other countries.
  • Master Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Words.
  • Fluent reading, speaking, and writing in English.
  • Willing to commit 24 months contract/project completion.
  • Hardworking, fast learner, mobile, and able to work long hours/public holidays (OT compensated).
  • Team worker, mature, meticulous, pro-active work attitude, and work independent.
  • Energetic & result-oriented.

The estimated salary for this position is SGD 80,000 - SGD 120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
