Research Associate Position

The Heat Resilience & Performance Centre invites applications for Research Associates to work on heat health research with translational impact. The role involves assisting in the development, execution and analysis of research aimed at addressing challenges arising from rising ambient temperatures.

Research areas will delve into heat acclimatization, chronic heat exposure, and sensemaking of physiological biomarkers. Successful candidates will be part of a multi-disciplinary group comprising exercise physiologists, data scientists, biomedical engineers and researchers.

  • Develop new research ideas with PIs and teams
  • Perform literature searches and summarise key information
  • Design and conduct relevant studies and surveys
  • Lead in-lab and outfield data collection
  • Establish and manage large databases
  • Interpret and analyse data
  • Generate reports and present data to stakeholders
  • Contribute to conference presentations and write papers for submission to peer-reviewed journals
Qualifications

A minimum qualification of a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Physiology or equivalent is required. Strong data science and analytics background and keen interest in heat health research are also desirable.

  • Proficient in qualitative research and data analysis tools
  • Proven knowledge of data collection methods and good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good presentation skills and ability to write research reports for publication

This role offers opportunities to pursue a part-time PhD and develop expertise in research planning and execution.
