The School of Materials Science and Engineering at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is seeking a highly skilled research staff to contribute to our team. We are looking for a researcher with experience in working with carbon and glass fiber composite materials, epoxies, fire resistance, and/or mechanical behavior of composites.
Key Responsibilities:- Work within the framework of the project to achieve and exceed project objectives.
- The candidate's primary responsibility is to understand and improve the thermal insulation characteristics of epoxy-based composites used in construction applications.
- Interact and collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team.
- Demonstrate a high degree of professional ethics.
- Understand safety protocols when working with composites and fire protection materials.
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering or science disciplines is required.
- Applicants with a PhD are preferred.
- Expertise in handling/processing epoxy composites and/or fire retardancy is essential.
- Understanding of insulation mechanisms and ability to work towards project goals within the project timeframe is crucial.
- Relevant experience (flame retardant materials, manufacturing of epoxy composites, testing of fire resistance, etc.) is a significant advantage.
- Flame retardancy background is considered highly desirable.
We offer an estimated salary range of SGD $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience. In addition to a competitive salary, NTU provides a comprehensive benefits package, including medical insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
