Senior Director of Biotechnology

We are seeking a visionary leader in the field of biotechnology to spearhead the development of innovative plant-inspired medicines.

The successful candidate will drive the creation of cutting-edge synthetic biology platforms, leveraging microbial hosts for novel bioactive natural products and derivatives. They will lead strain engineering efforts, optimizing microbial chassis through metabolic pathway engineering, genome editing, and synthetic biology techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan for biotechnology, focusing on the design and implementation of synthetic biology solutions.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to engineer microbial hosts, optimize fermentation processes, and develop scale-up strategies.
  • Drive innovation and intellectual property protection strategies, ensuring R&D advancements while securing IP rights.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing biotechnology team, fostering a culture of scientific excellence and innovation.
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in Synthetic Biology, Metabolic Engineering, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related discipline.
  • 15+ years of experience in synthetic biology, microbial engineering, natural product discovery, and/or bioproduction.
  • Proven track record in engineering microbial hosts for complex natural product production, with expertise in metabolic pathway optimization and CRISPR-based genome editing.
  • Strong leadership skills, with ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive innovation in a fast-paced biotech environment.
