Electrical Quantity Surveyor Role Overview

This position involves playing a crucial part in ensuring the successful completion of electrical projects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Tender Submission: Prepare and submit tender submissions, encompassing Bills of Quantities, to guarantee compliance with project specifications.
  • Quotation Preparation: Develop detailed quotations for tender submissions, taking into account materials, subcontractors, and costing.
  • Cost Analysis: Conduct thorough cost analysis to enhance project value and control project scope to meet objectives.
  • Project Administration: Manage project budgets, costs, and contracts, including Variation Orders and final accounts settlement.
  • Procurement and Purchasing: Source and procure materials, negotiate prices, and analyze purchasing decisions.

In addition, this role entails:

  • Reviewing Tender Specifications: Study and review tender specifications and drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Administration of Project Budget: Administer project budgets, costs, and contracts, including Variation Orders and final accounts settlement.
  • Identifying Potential Claims: Identify potential claims based on contract deviations and review of contract terms.

To excel in this position, you should possess:

  • Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct thorough cost analysis and identify potential claims.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to work with various stakeholders, including project managers and subcontractors.
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications: Proficiency in MS Office applications, including AutoCad.
  • Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying/ Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering: Relevant degree or diploma in quantity surveying or mechanical/electrical engineering.
