System Engineer for Trading Risk Management

About this role:

This is a critical position for an experienced system engineer who can design and implement latency-sensitive, distributed systems to monitor high-volume trading activity, aggregate real-time risk metrics, and enforce pre-trade controls across global markets.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java server-side development on Linux environments, with expertise in designing and coding low-latency, high-throughput distributed systems. They will also have experience building or supporting front-office trading or risk management systems.

  • Develop high-throughput, low-latency server-side software capable of processing millions of daily orders and preventing control violations in real time.
  • Partner with users and stakeholders to design and implement pre-trade risk controls that protect the firm and align with global regulatory standards.
  • Take ownership of the full engineering lifecycle: design, implementation, test automation, deployment, and production support (escalation-level only).
  • Maintain strong collaboration with global and regional teams to ensure system reliability and compliance.

Key requirements:

  • 7+ years of Java server-side development experience on Linux environments.
  • Proven expertise in designing and coding low-latency, high-throughput distributed systems.
  • Experience building or supporting front-office trading or risk management systems.
  • Strong communication skills with experience engaging business stakeholders and navigating complex interpersonal situations.
  • Familiarity with development and CI/CD tools such as Jira, Git, Jenkins, Gradle.
  • Good market knowledge across equities, fixed income, or other asset classes.
