A Role That Matters

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Leader to join our Group Compliance team. This role will play a critical part in implementing compliance mandates and strategies related to conduct risk management. Your primary focus will be on ensuring fairness, value for money, transparency, and consumer protection.

This is a key compliance activity that directly supports our vision to 'change the way people feel about insurance.'

Key Accountabilities:
  • Supporting the design of Compliance-owned Group-wide Policy, Standards, and Guidelines for Conduct Risk Management, including Distribution and Sales Quality Policy, Treating Customers Fairly Policy, Complaints Policy, Investigation Standards, Welcome Call, and Sales Force Disciplinary Guidelines.
  • Supporting the design of other Policies, Standards, and Guidelines that support the mitigation of conduct risk, including Product Approval, Industry Recruitment Guidelines, Underwriting and Claims policies.
  • Providing effective challenge and oversight of key activities.
  • Establishing monitoring programs conducted by the first and second line of defense, including Early Warning Systems, Conduct Risk dashboards, Quality Assurance, Compliance testing of Policies, Manuals, Processes, and Operational Effectiveness versus applicable regulations and Group Policy and Standards.
  • Leading or participating in Group Compliance's independent Thematic Reviews of Deep Dives of Business Unit practices.
  • Establishing quality Group-wide reporting, analytical insights on Conduct Risk, including recommended actions.
  • Establishing action tracking, reporting, and escalation of key Conduct Risks, Issues, Incidents.
  • Leveraging technology to enhance the above.
  • Contributing to the production of Group Compliance reporting to key Governance Fora, including Group Management Team (GMT), Compliance & Operational Risk Committee (CORC), Group Audit Committee, and Group Risk Committee.
  • Providing and supporting general and specific Compliance Training on Conduct Risk Management, as well as other topics as required. Providing input on training to intermediaries.
  • Working closely with Business Unit Compliance Teams and other Business Unit Management on the development and embedding of Conduct Risk Frameworks.
  • Supporting the Business Unit Compliance Teams with Regulatory Inspections and queries with respect to Conduct Risk.
  • Working closely with relevant Group Office teams, especially Distribution and Propositions, Emerging Market MD, Customer, Health, and Operations to ensure Conduct Risk and Compliance are appropriately considered in the design of everything we do.
What We Offer

FWD Life Insurance Corporation offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Requirements:
  • Ideally 10+ years of relevant experience in regulatory compliance, distribution compliance, risk management, or audit, with exposure to the insurance industry.
  • Relevant degree from a recognized university.
  • Professional certifications in compliance, risk management, or audit are an advantage.
  • Direct experience working in multicultural, cross-functional, and diverse environments.
  • Prior experience in an insurer in SEA in a governance role is preferred.
