Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced VMware Technical Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing VMware virtualization solutions for enterprise clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Solution Design & Architecture
    • Assess client requirements and design VMware-based virtualization architectures to meet performance, scalability, and availability goals.
    • Prepare high-level and detailed solution designs, including infrastructure diagrams and configuration documentation.
    • Recommend best practices for VMware vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Horizon, and related products.
  • Implementation & Deployment
    • Install, configure, and integrate VMware solutions in on-premises, hybrid, or cloud environments.
    • Conduct system migrations from physical to virtual (P2V) and virtual to virtual (V2V) environments.
    • Implement backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies using VMware tools and third-party solutions.
  • Technical Consultancy & Advisory
    • Provide expert guidance to clients on VMware licensing, capacity planning, and system optimization.
    • Advise on security hardening, compliance requirements, and performance tuning.
    • Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and technical workshops for client teams.
  • Troubleshooting & Support
    • Perform advanced troubleshooting for VMware infrastructure issues, working closely with vendor support as needed.
    • Conduct root cause analysis and provide permanent resolution for recurring issues.
    • Ensure systems are patched, upgraded, and aligned with vendor recommendations.
  • Project Management & Documentation
    • Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely delivery of VMware projects.
    • Maintain detailed project documentation including configurations, test plans, and implementation guides.
    • Track project milestones and ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation
    • Stay updated on VMware product updates, new features, and industry trends.
    • Evaluate emerging virtualization and cloud technologies for potential adoption.
    • Contribute to internal knowledge bases and best practice repositories.
    Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Certifications: VMware Certified Professional (VCP), VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP), VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX).
  • Experience: 3–8 years in VMware administration, design, and deployment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • VMware, vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, NSX, Horizon View.
    • Backup and recovery tools (e.g., Veeam, Commvault).
    • Scripting knowledge (PowerCLI, PowerShell) for automation.
    • Familiarity with Windows/Linux server administration and networking concepts.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, client-facing communication and problem-solving abilities.
