Job Title: Ceramics Studio Technician

Our team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ceramics Studio Technician to join our dynamic group. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing various aspects of the studio's daily operations.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in 3D art-related qualifications, particularly pottery, and possess intermediate knowledge of ceramics, including throwing, trimming, and glazing. Additionally, experience in teaching ceramics is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ceramic Teaching and Class Planning: Develop and deliver engaging ceramic classes, creating a positive learning environment for students of all skill levels.
  • Exhibition Planning, Artist Workshops, and Kiln Operations: Collaborate with artists and designers to plan and execute exhibitions, workshops, and other events, ensuring smooth kiln operations and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Ceramic Product Design and Production for Retail Purposes: Design and produce high-quality ceramic products for retail sale, meeting customer demands and quality standards.
  • Equipment Setup, Maintenance, and Demonstration: Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, and provide demonstrations to staff and visitors as needed.
  • Inventory Management and Supply Ordering: Effectively manage inventory levels, ordering supplies and materials as required to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Maintaining a Safe and Clean Working Environment: Foster a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Degree or Diploma in 3D Art-Related Qualifications: A minimum of a diploma or degree in 3D art-related qualifications, especially pottery.
  • Intermediate Knowledge of Ceramics: Strong understanding of ceramics, including throwing, trimming, and glazing techniques.
  • Teaching Experience: Experience in teaching ceramics is highly desirable.
  • Passion for Ceramics Industry: A genuine passion for the ceramics industry and its applications.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
