Piping Engineer Role

Restoring, verifying and ensuring the integrity of piping systems is a critical aspect in power plant reinstatement. This involves revitalizing, revalidating and reinforcing piping systems to ensure seamless functionality.

Job Scope:
  • Evaluate existing piping system conditions post shutdown or damage.
  • Conduct thorough visual inspections to identify corrosion, leaks, mechanical damage or outdated sections.
  • Review piping and instrumentation diagrams, isometric drawings and material specifications for compliance with design documentation.
  • Verify as-built conditions against design documentation and flag deviations if any.
  • Modify pipe routing due to new equipment, updated standards or space constraints.
  • Select appropriate materials and perform stress analysis for changed operational conditions.
  • Develop work schedules for pipe reinstatement activities in coordination with other disciplines.
  • Ensure timely procurement of materials, fittings and valves.
  • Supervise piping fabrication and installation works.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably recognized by PE Board (Singapore).
  • Minimum 5 years of piping engineering experience in shipyard, offshore or petrochemical projects.
  • Strong knowledge of piping codes and standards.
  • Proficient in piping design tools like AutoCAD and other relevant software.
  • Able to interface with procurement, vendors, construction and QA/QC teams across project phases.
  • Knowledge of local safety practices and risk assessments related to hotwork, confined space and high-pressure systems.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and digital tools for data tracking, documentation and reporting.
