Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing assistance and support to the Nurse Manager in the day-to-day operations, improvements, and enhancements of clinical nursing services within the nursing home.
  • Organizing and providing on-the-job training to all staff to ensure continual development in the clinical aspects.
  • Managing and facilitating project teams to keep up-to-date on current trends.
  • Facilitating and guiding staff in establishment and management of relationships with residents and their families and coordinating the administration of care plans between the parties involved.
  • Guiding and teaching nurses on the process and steps to manage incident reporting activities, including investigation, report writing, and communicating response to family members involved.
  • Providing advice and guidance to nurses on the management of complaints and enquiries lodged by residents and their families.
  • Ensuring compliance with all nursing standards as stipulated by the Ministry of Health and Singapore Nursing Board.
  • Leading quality assurance activities to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care.
  • Ensuring quality audits are planned and conducted periodically, followed up with areas for corrective improvements.
  • Promoting evidence-based practices or nursing care delivery.
  • Ensuring written policies and procedures and work processes are available and up-to-date to guide nursing care delivery.
  • Ensuring competency evaluation and conducting in-house training to impart clinical knowledge to less-experienced nursing staff.
  • Organizing and facilitating projects and/or research on current issues and trends in the healthcare sector (e.g., infection control).
  • Supporting the Nurse Manager in nursing home management and deputizing in his/her absence.

Requirements

  • Degree or Advance Diploma or Diploma in Nursing.
  • State Registered Nurse and valid practicing license issued by the Singapore Nursing Board.
  • Valid certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
  • 5-6 years of clinical experience, out of which 2-3 years must be in the management of chronic patients or 2-3 years as a Senior Staff Nurse.
  • Possess initiative, drive, and self-motivation to persevere and make things happen.
  • Able to work effectively with diverse teams and all levels of employees to achieve positive outcomes.
  • High tolerance of stress and ambiguity.
  • People and customer centered.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $4,000 to $5,500 per month, depending on experience. This is a 5-day workweek position with rotating morning/noon shifts.
