Job Overview

This position is part of a research project funded by the Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE) at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). As a Senior Quantum Research Engineer, you will be working on developing a scalable and comprehensive framework for formal verification of quantum programs.

The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on a research project where you will be part of the research team to develop an intermediate language to model quantum programs. The intermediate language should be complete to describe all the desired characteristics of quantum computing while being simple enough to be understood by most programmers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in and manage the research project with the Principal Investigator (PI) and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.
  • Develop an intermediate language to write quantum programs, a comprehensive framework to verify the correctness of quantum programs written in our intermediate language, mechanize the verification framework using state-of-the-art theorem provers like Coq or Isabelle/HOL, and develop formal methods for automatic reasoning that can be materialized into commercial tools.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled individual who has relevant competence in the areas of formal methods, including theorem proving and model checking, especially theorem proving, quantum computing, and software analysis/verification. A degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related areas is required. Possessing a Master's or PhD degree will be advantageous.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of separation logic and quantum program analysis/verification. They must be able to build and maintain strong working relationships with people within and external to the university. Self-directed learners who believe in continuous learning and development will thrive in this environment. Proficient technical writers and presenters are also preferred.

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is SGD 120,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
