Audiovisual Technology Specialist Job Description

The role of an Audiovisual Technology Specialist is to lead the team in setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting audiovisual equipment within the school premises. This includes setting up, operating, and maintaining AV equipment for lessons, meetings, and events as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting AV equipment within the school premises.
  • Providing technical support for lighting, audio, video, and stage requirements for events.
  • Managing AV resources including condemnation of obsolete equipment and administering the loan of AV equipment.
  • Performing routine inspections and maintenance of projectors, speakers, microphones, and other AV equipment.
  • Conducting annual hardware maintenance, including troubleshooting and basic repairs of AV equipment.
  • Investigating, documenting, and updating equipment faults, recommending appropriate corrective actions.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Developing user guides for common AV setups where required.
  • Liaising with vendors regarding AV requirements, repairs, and related matters.
  • Assisting with video creation and editing.
  • Assisting with photography/videography and graphic design.
  • Assisting with managing the school's social media accounts.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A diploma or equivalent experience in the AV/ICT field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably in a school environment.
  • Relevant skill & experience on AV equipment, handling, and systems.
  • Proficiency in operating and simple troubleshooting audiovisual equipment, including sound systems, projectors, video cameras, lighting equipment, and control systems.
  • Familiarity with audio and video editing software, such as Audacity, Reaper, Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, Capcut, etc.
