Instrumentation Engineering Specialist

The primary objective of this role is to provide exceptional instrumentation engineering expertise for the design, development, and delivery of high-quality engineering packages. This position will focus on ensuring technical integrity, adherence to project requirements, and timely completion of instrumentation outputs while promoting cost and schedule efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support lead engineers on assigned projects and report to the head of instrumentation engineering on discipline matters.
  • Implement company processes, procedures, and quality policies across all tasks.
  • Ensure project activities adhere to scope, schedule, and budget constraints.

Responsibilities Include:

  1. Preparing and delivering field instrumentation documentation, including design basis, metering philosophies, specifications, and datasheets for control valves, safety valves, choke valves, on/off valves, field instruments, and analyzers.
  2. Reviewing and approving vendor documentation for instrumentation and mechanical/electrical packages.
  3. Providing technical support for approvals from classification societies, verification bodies, and regulatory authorities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation Engineering (Electrical or Chemical Engineers with relevant experience are also considered).
  • Minimum of 12 years in Instrumentation Design Engineering, including at least 3 years on offshore platforms or FPSOs.
  • Experience in medium/large-scale greenfield oil & gas projects, with knowledge of project phases, milestones, and deliverables.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of industry standards (API, ISO, IEC, IECEx) related to instrumentation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills; capable of working independently.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) for presenting technical issues to clients, teams, and regulatory bodies.
