Lead Aviation Event Specialist

The aviation event management industry is a dynamic and exciting field that requires highly skilled professionals to plan, coordinate, and execute successful events. As an experienced Lead Aviation Event Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work on high-profile events, develop strategic partnerships, and lead a team of dedicated professionals.

This role involves managing multiple tasks simultaneously, including sales leadership, relationship building, brand management, financial management, and general management. You will be responsible for ensuring that all events are executed according to plan, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to think strategically and make informed decisions. You must also have a strong understanding of the aviation industry and its trends.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as an Event Director or Senior Event Manager, with a proven track record of delivering successful events. They will also have a collaborative mindset and a team player attitude, as well as being passionate, driven, energetic, and enthusiastic about the industry.

  • Sales Leadership:
  • Develop a campaign strategy with the sales team to meet and exceed targets
  • Manage sales managers and sales agent teams
  • Ensure the sales plan is being delivered to target and activity targets are met
  • Develop new revenue streams and complex sales such as sponsorship
  • Visit and canvas at competitor and industry events
  • Relationships:
  • Foster positive and professional relationships with key suppliers, associations, media, and commercial partners
  • Brand Management:
  • Implement strategies to ensure the on-going growth and sustainability of events
  • Write a business plan for your events in collaboration with the commercial director
  • Produce a coherent brand strategy for your event to maintain and increase relevance to all markets
  • Financial Management:
  • Overall accountability for meeting and exceeding budgeted gross and net profit contribution of shows
  • Ensure credit control collects funds in a timely fashion and before each show opens
  • General Management:
  • Day-to-day management of the event sales and agent team
  • Interdepartmental: Manage relationships with supporting operations, marketing, and production departments

About You:

  • Previous experience as an Event Director or Senior Event Manager
  • Experience managing large-scale trade shows
