Factory Automation Expert

We are seeking an experienced subject matter expert to drive innovation in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of cutting-edge factory automation solutions across various applications.

  • This role requires being a subject matter expert in factory automation, covering design, development, implementation, and maintenance of Factory Automation solutions through new and existing applications.
  • The expert should understand factory automation systems architecture and be able to cover the platform, network, and infrastructure on which the applications sit.
  • Covering solution integration within the production applications landscape is also a key requirement, along with understanding the different layers integrated with the Factory Automation solution.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills are necessary, where you will identify trends within manufacturing factory automation, collaborate with teams to create innovative ideas, investigate new concepts, consider alternatives, and manage risks effectively.
  • Solving complex problems involving expert networks is also essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate support for problem-solving, generate analysis and hypotheses, draw conclusions from analysis, and derive lessons learned.
  • Building technical competence within your domain of expertise and within your Business Line/Functional Area is crucial.
  • Drive technical or architectural decisions within the Functional Area and execute implementation. Share knowledge and best practices across organizational boundaries to establish solution principles that guide junior members.

You are well-suited for this role if you have:

  • Relevant vocational training (3+ years) and extensive subject-specific additional qualification.
  • Experience related to system architecture, design, and integration within manufacturing and production domains.
  • Examples of building technical competence and sharing knowledge to enhance team capabilities in high-automation environments.
  • Leadership experience guiding the development or creation of guidelines and principles in architecture or solutions.
  • Relevant completed study (4 years) in mechanical, mechatronics, computer engineering, or with 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge and skills can also be acquired through other means.
  • Technical skills include factory automation software platforms, middleware, C#, equipment software, Oracle, and Windows services.
  • 7+ years of relevant working experience, preferably with leadership experience of at least 2 team members.
