Manufacturing Biotechnologist Role:
The manufacturing biotechnologist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the timely completion of assigned tasks within the biochemical manufacturing department. This involves working collaboratively with the team to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
The key responsibilities include preparing equipment, cleaning and sterilizing vessels, preparing solutions, monitoring biochemical processing equipment, raw materials sampling, dispensing, and environmental monitoring sampling. Additionally, maintaining housekeeping standards and adhering to safety guidelines are crucial aspects of this role.
It is essential to prioritize tasks effectively and document work as per approved manufacturing formulae. Troubleshooting equipment and process problems, supporting process improvement efforts, and operating computers for process control and data entry are also critical functions.
Furthermore, participating in staff and shift change meetings, working closely with other shift personnel and external support groups, and ensuring all assigned tasks are performed safely are vital responsibilities.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, one must possess good problem-solving skills, strong interpersonal communication abilities, and excellent teamworking skills. A degree in Life Sciences or Engineering discipline, Diploma, or NITEC equivalent holders are preferred candidates.
