About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Equity Trader to join our team at AIA.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing best execution and trade allocation across a range of equity and equity derivative instruments in compliance with internal standards, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offer transition management and equity index replication expertise.
  • Provide derivatives execution expertise in terms of suitability of instruments used, premiums/discounts to theoretical prices, derivatives rolls.
  • Test and provide input into enhancement of AIAIM's equity and derivatives trading systems, including the inclusion of electronic trading platforms.
  • Monitor news flows and market activities and provide feedback to portfolio managers.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trading practices and tools in the market and promote them internally as appropriate.
  • Handle administrative tasks in relation to trading, such as regular trade performance review meetings.
  • Produce and keep regular trading records in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Maintain a good relationship with counterparties and conduct broker evaluation.

Requirements

  • University graduate in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related fields. Postgraduate degree holder preferred.
  • 8 to 10 years' experience working in a trading and dealing operational environment.
  • At least 5 years' experience dealing with solid working knowledge of Asia ex-Japan equities markets, stock exchanges.
  • Data analytics and Python programming skills would be an advantage.
  • Solid technical background and ability to use front office dealing systems.
  • Keen interest in technology adoption in the trading arena.
  • Astutely compliance and regulatory aware.
  • Strong understanding of front office controls and what is required in a large institutional set-up.
  • Outcome-oriented and performance-focused.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to establish constructive working relationships with investment team across AIA platforms.
  • Strong teammate and enthusiasm to learn.
  • Good capabilities in multitasking, problem-solving, and maintaining close attention to details under pressure.
