Telecom Policy Specialist

Job Description

Assess and analyze IMDA's regulated telecom market, reviewing related policies and regulatory frameworks. This will support IMDA's vision to empower the info-communications sector that drives the economy, bonds communities, and powers a Smart Nation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake robust and deep analysis of the telecom market, including financial analysis of operators to evaluate their health.
  • Gather insights from internal and external stakeholders to develop sound policy recommendations.
  • Conduct market assessments for local and international segments, analyzing policy issues and producing well-researched reports.
  • Analyze market trends to formulate effective policies and regulatory frameworks.
  • Review and implement frameworks aligned with policy objectives.

Requirements

  • Background in Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Stay updated on developments in telecom, media, post/parcel sectors, digital economy, and relevant legal and regulatory environments locally and internationally.
  • Strong policy analysis skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including presentation skills.
  • Resourceful, motivated, proactive, with analytical and creative thinking.
  • Result-oriented, stakeholder-focused, capable of multitasking.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
