Seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to serve as a Research Collaborator.


Job Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized Research Collaborator to support our team in the development of innovative solutions for resin-based 3D printing.


Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain custom modified commercial UV resin printers to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Design and fabricate modifications for commercial UV resin printers to enhance their capabilities and efficiency.
  • Optimize slicing software settings and printer firmware for non-standard hardware configurations to improve print quality and speed.
  • Measure, quantify, and interpret printing improvements caused by modifications to inform future development decisions.
  • Compile and present technical reports, white papers, and presentations summarizing research findings and insights for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure safe handling and disposal of photopolymer resins and solvents in accordance with laboratory safety protocols.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, academic research, and emerging technologies in resin-based 3D printing to provide informed contributions to the team.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to explore applications for improved UV resin printers and identify areas for further development.

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience with UV resin (SLA/DLP/LCD) 3D printers, including hardware assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (Fusion 360) for designing printer modifications and test models.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate and efficient results.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and present research findings.
  • Familiarity with machine learning, cell biology, psychology, troubleshooting, data analysis, hardware, medicine, 3D printing, Python, firmware, molecular biology, assembly, UV printing, laboratory procedures, and CAD design principles is an asset.
