Our organization is seeking a Research Specialist to contribute to the Heat Exposure, Activity, and Sleep (HEATS) project. The Postdoctoral Scholar will work under the supervision of Stefano Schiavon and collaborate with other experts in thermal physiology, sleep science, building science, thermal comfort, and data science.

The successful candidate will have obtained their doctoral degree or be nearing completion. They will be responsible for working within the HEATS project, which aims to improve sleep outcomes for people exposed to heat.

Key responsibilities include contributing to the assessment of air conditioning control logic development, implementing it in real buildings, supporting experiment running, processing and analyzing data, leading research publications and related patents, preparing and sharing research findings with various stakeholders, and assisting with other duties as delegated by supervisors.

Required qualifications include a Ph.D. or Doctor of Science degree in Engineering, Architecture, Sleep Science, or Data Science, knowledge in HVAC systems, human thermoregulation, sleep science, built environment performance assessment, occupant analysis or simulation, data processing and analysis proficiency using R, Python or similar software, and experience conducting human subjects research in related areas.

This position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with a team of experts from UC Berkeley, NUS, and the University of Sydney.
