Role Overview
As a Financial Crime Advisory Specialist at OCBC, you will play a vital role in safeguarding the bank's integrity and protecting it from financial crime threats. The role supports the Singapore Business Unit on day-to-day Financial Crime Compliance (FCC)-related advisory and ad hoc project/regulatory matters. The primary responsibilities include reviewing Customer Due Diligence assessments for AML/CFT & Sanctions risks, providing AML/CFT advisory guidance to the Business Unit, and coordinating with the Group Regulatory Body Policy designate to ensure the Business Unit considers Group CDD procedure updates arising from regulatory changes.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
  1. Reviewing Customer Due Diligence assessments for AML/CFT & Sanctions risks
  2. Providing AML/CFT advisory guidance to the Business Unit and being a subject matter expert on the interpretation of policies, procedures, and regulations in relation to AML, KYC, and CDD
  3. Coordinating with the Group Regulatory Body Policy designate to ensure the Business Unit considers Group CDD procedure updates arising from regulatory changes
  4. Providing sound FCC regulatory advice for new product reviews
  5. Identifying compliance issues that require follow-up or investigation and discussing emerging FCC risk issues with the Business Unit to keep abreast with AML/CFT and sanctions laws, regulations, and developments
  6. Facilitating the periodic CDD and AML/CFT risk reporting to key stakeholders by the Group Financial Crime Compliance Centre of Excellence as well as ensuring FCC governance oversight of similar Business Unit reporting
  7. Managing regulatory queries in coordination with the Business Unit and other relevant stakeholders
  8. Providing AML/CFT training to the Business Unit or 1.5 Compliance unit as required
  9. Participating and facilitating internal AML-related projects and industry projects, as required
  10. Performing other duties/assignments assigned by the line manager

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will possess 5-7 years of working experience in an advisory function with other global and/or local financial institutions, preferably related to retail business/private banking. A bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent is also required. Strong working knowledge of AML/CFT regulatory requirements, including MAS Notice 626, is essential. Knowledge of sanctions is a plus. You will also require great interpersonal, communication, and ability to work collaboratively across different stakeholder groups. Positive attitude, a fast learner, and ability to deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines are also essential.
