Job Title: Database Systems Expert

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain SQL Server instances across various environments.
  • Configure and support high-availability solutions, including Always-On Availability Groups and failover clusters.
  • Perform database installations, upgrades, patching, and migrations across different SQL Server versions.
  • Conduct performance tuning using indexing strategies, query optimization, and monitoring tools like SQL Profiler and Extended Events.
  • Provide L3-level support for escalated tickets, including incident resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Participate in 24x7 production support, including weekend and off-hours coverage for outages and scheduled activities.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to login failures, port conflicts, and cross-server connectivity.
  • Coordinate with infrastructure teams to resolve network-related SQL issues.
  • Set up and maintain automated alerts, health checks, and performance dashboards.
  • Redesign and automate SQL reports based on business requirements.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Support UAT data setup for bug fixes and application releases.
  • Coordinate deployments to UAT and production environments in collaboration with development and infrastructure teams.
  • Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings for approval of DB changes.
  • Configure and maintain user roles, permissions, and SQL security policies.
  • Provide audit deliverables for internal and external audits.
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server administration.
  • Experience with high-availability solutions and performance tuning.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
