Corporate Litigation & Arbitration Specialist

Job Description:

As a key member of our legal team, you will play a vital role in supporting the global Fashion TV franchise network. Your primary focus will be on managing arbitration and corporate litigation matters, ensuring franchise compliance, brand protection, and effective dispute resolution.

Key responsibilities include managing all arbitration processes such as brief preparation, hearings, and settlement negotiations. You will represent the company in disputes with franchisees, partners, and third parties, developing arbitration and mediation strategies to minimize litigation risks and ensuring compliance with both local and international arbitration laws.

In the realm of corporate litigation, you will oversee legal disputes related to contracts, intellectual property, commercial agreements, and franchises. This will involve drafting and managing various litigation documents like pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements. Collaboration with external counsel and internal teams will be essential for effective risk management and strategy implementation.

You will also provide guidance to global Fashion TV franchise outlets on compliance with franchising laws and intellectual property protection. Resolving franchise-related disputes, enforcing brand standards, and ensuring the legality and alignment of franchise agreements with company policies will be part of your responsibilities.

Safeguarding Fashion TV's intellectual property, brand reputation, and legal interests is crucial. This involves monitoring legal trends and industry developments to mitigate risks and advising senior legal leadership on emerging risks and legal changes.

Finally, you will collaborate with marketing, business, and finance teams to ensure compliance and provide legal training to franchise managers and internal stakeholders on policies and risk prevention.

This role requires an LLB or LLM from an accredited law school and registration as a member of the Bar. Extensive experience in corporate litigation with a specialization in arbitration, along with a proven track record of handling intellectual property and franchise-related disputes, preferably on a global scale, is essential.

Industry experience in fashion, media, or entertainment is advantageous. Key skills and competencies required for this role include deep knowledge of arbitration laws both domestically and internationally, excellent legal drafting, communication, and negotiation skills, strong organizational abilities to manage high case volumes, a business-focused mindset with strong legal acumen, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Additional qualifications include experience in global franchise legal operations and multilingual abilities, which are considered advantageous for international operations.
