Procurement Specialist

The role involves identifying, evaluating and researching potential suppliers for machine components, materials and procurement items both locally and internationally.

  • Responsibilities include:
  1. Proactively seek out new suppliers to ensure a reliable pool of qualified suppliers.
  2. Engage with suppliers to procure high-quality materials and products for the business.
  3. Bilateral relationships are built with suppliers to negotiate favorable pricing, payment terms, lead times and timely delivery.
  4. Collaboration occurs with suppliers on delivery schedules, quality concerns, product specifications and certification requirements.
  5. Training sessions may be coordinated by suppliers for designers and engineers as needed.
  6. Project costs are tracked to achieve cost savings and maintain accurate project data.
  7. Efficient inventory turnaround times are managed.
  8. Purchase order management processes are handled.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
  • 1-2 years experience in purchasing or procurement in any industry is preferred.
  • Immediate starter is an advantage.
