About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join SUMITOMO MITSUI BANKING CORPORATION SINGAPORE BRANCH as a seasoned Enterprise Network Architect. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cutting-edge network solutions that drive business growth and excellence.

Job Responsibilities
  • Evaluate New Network Solutions: Assess and develop innovative network architectures and designs that cater to the bank's evolving needs, ensuring seamless deployment into production environments.
  • Lead Network Architecture: Leverage your expertise to design, plan, and deploy functional technical solutions that meet business and system requirements, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Design and Implement Network Solutions: Develop and implement comprehensive network solutions involving routing & switching, SD WAN, firewalls, secure internet gateways, LAN/WLAN, SASE, and VPNs technologies, staying up-to-date with industry trends.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Collaborate with server and application teams to identify root causes and resolve network security issues, providing expert guidance on network infrastructure domain.
  • Incident Response and Change Management: Work closely with the operations team to respond to major incidents or changes, taking corrective/preventive actions to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  • Review and Troubleshoot Network Architecture: Conduct thorough reviews of network architecture and design, working closely with country teams to identify areas for improvement and optimize network performance.
  • Develop Technical Standards and Specifications: Create and update technical standards and architecture specifications, driving consistency and quality across the organization.
  • Provide Network Architecture Reviews and Recommendations: Offer expert insights on network architecture, assessing and recommending enhancements to improve operational efficiency and compliance with IT policies and governance.
  • Technical Documentation and Communication: Prepare and present technical documentation, ensuring alignment with company policy and regulatory requirements, and coordinating with external vendors to deliver systems and applications within SLA parameters.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field with at least 8 years of experience in network operations, implementation, and design, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in solution planning, design, architecture, and implementation.
  • Systems Engineering Skills: Strong systems engineering skills with a focus on network and firewall architecture, accompanied by industrial certifications such as CCDE, CCIE (R&S or Security), CCNP, or CCNSP, and ITIL.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth technical experience and proficiency in deploying network systems, particularly in large enterprise and data center routing switching environments, including high-availability multi-layer datacenter networks, Internet Gateway, VPN, ISE, Cisco Router and Switches, advanced IP routing and switching technologies, BGP, SDWAN, OSPF, PBR, QOS, VRRP, VPC, and VXLAN.
  • Familiarity with Firewalls and Load Balancers: Experienced in implementing and setting up firewalls (Cisco, Checkpoint, Fortinet, and Palo Alto) and load balancers (F5).
  • Excellent Communication and Documentation Skills: Proficient in technical report writing and documentation, with knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) principles and practices.
  • Banking or Financial Institution Background: Prior experience as an IT professional in a banking or financial institution would be advantageous, along with knowledge of industry technology trends and IT security, risk management, and security controls.
