Job Title: Senior Research Specialist
About the Role:The Senior Research Specialist will be responsible for leading a team to design, oversee and conduct scientific research in the group. He/she will keep up-to-date with emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases of public health importance and independently design, plan and supervise experiments/projects.
Main Responsibilities:- Project Management: Manage a team to ensure that projects are completed on time and within scope.
- Research Development: Develop research proposals, budgets and timelines for new projects.
- Strategic Planning: Participate in strategic-planning activities, such as identifying new research opportunities, assessing potential clinical translation of research and developing long-term research plans.
- Knowledge Update: Review scientific publications to stay current with the latest knowledge in relevant fields.
- Methodology Development: Lead research conduct and develop new methodologies to advance knowledge within the group and its area of interest.
- Communication: Communicate scientific findings through published research papers or presentations at scientific conferences both locally and internationally.
- Collaboration: Foster collaborations with other academic institutions and industry partners.
- Education: PhD in a relevant discipline such as Microbiology, Biomedical/Life Sciences, Infectious Diseases, Epidemiology or Public Health.
- Experience: At least 3-5 years of post-doctoral experience working in a research/clinical/public health laboratory.
