System Architect Role

Lead Solution Development

The system architect leads a team of technical professionals responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge logistics solutions. In this role, you will report to the senior manager of solution development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement innovative solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Analyze customer requirements and provide expert advice on warehouse operations and supply chain management.
  • Develop and propose warehousing solutions that optimize resource utilization, efficiency, and innovation.
  • Assess resources, including MHE, EDI, automation, and innovation opportunities.
  • Support the IS team in defining the best IT solution for each project.
  • Provide cost analysis and rates.
  • Build RFP technical answer documents to present solutions.
  • Manage projects from initiation to delivery.
  • Coordinate workshops between customer teams, IS, regional, and operations/key users.
  • Summarize relevant data to support workshop decisions and follow-up analysis.
  • Follow up on IT developments and WMS setup/configuration with the IS team project manager.
  • Coordinate with purchasing for supplier selection and site renovation/installation.
  • Ensure timely project delivery, managing resources, costs, and milestones.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, transportation, logistics, supply chain management, industrial or mechanical engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Proficient English language skills (reading, writing, speaking).
  • 4-6 years' experience in logistics, supply chain, and/or manufacturing with a detailed knowledge of warehousing and transportation.
  • Expertise in data analysis, advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, or equivalent tools.
  • Knowledge of financial modeling, negotiation, process mapping, labor sizing, handling equipment, and troubleshooting.
  • Project management skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proven experience in solution design for warehouses is essential.
  • Ambition to learn and grow knowledge of solutions design.
  • Positive attitude and a 'can-do' mentality.
