Chinese Language Instructor

Role Overview

Teach Mandarin Chinese to students aged 6 and above, including older students and working adults.

  • Develop engaging lesson plans for various age groups and language levels.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct interactive Chinese language classes, focusing on Business Chinese.
  2. Deliver lessons tailored to individual or group needs.
  3. Teach in-person and/or online (1-on-1 and/or small group setting).
  4. Prepare lessons according to our in-house curriculum.
  5. Maintain accurate student attendance, class records, and reports.
  6. Provide constructive feedback to students and parents on progress and areas of improvement.
  7. Be willing to provide additional hours to make up time for missed lessons.
  8. Ensure a safe and vibrant learning environment.
Requirements
  1. Hold at least a bachelor's degree or related field.
  2. Have minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience teaching the Chinese language to non-Chinese speakers.
  3. Relevant academic background or teaching Chinese as an International Language is preferred.
  4. Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written), with strong command of English.
  5. Have accurate pronunciation for spoken Mandarin (to facilitate teaching in Chinese).
  6. Be tech-savvy with experience using digital platforms (e.g. Zoom).
  7. Be patient, passionate, and responsible.
  8. Exhibit excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  9. Able to commit at least 6 months to 1 year.

Salary range: $25 to $45 per hour, dependent on experience and actual class enrolment

Working hours: Weekday afternoon/evenings and weekends
